ODEMSA is hosting a hybrid online EMT course at the Hanover County Fire Training Center and is now accepting applications online!
The Online EMT course is designed to be flexible to meet students’ needs. Instead of committing to 2 or 3 nights per week for several months, not to mention the time on the road to and from class, this class uses a Learning Management System (LMS) to present material. The class does require that students engage in readings and online learning such as video lectures and interactive assignments, but this can be done at the convenience of the student.
The student will have to attend skill labs in person. Skill labs start May 2, 2019 and will meet every Thursday night for the remainder of the course. Class will also meet for a few Saturdays. All labs will meet at Hanover County Fire Training Center at 13038 Winston Road, Hanover, Virginia 23005.
***There is a MANDATORY class meeting May 2, 2019 at Hanover County Fire Training Center. Students MUST attend this session, which will be held from 6:30 PM to 10 PM.
This course is transferable. At the end of this course, student successfully completing this course sit for the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) exam. They gain Virginia EMT certification and NREMT certification. The NREMT certification allows students to gain reciprocity as an EMT in most states in the US.
Class starts May 2, 2019
