Emergency Medical Technician, Medic

The Medic field provider is responsible for the direction of patient care while operating non-emergency and/or emergency modalities as a rescue unit in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and directives.

The Medic leads, directs, and participates in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation. When operating as attendant-in-charge, the Medic provides direction to other crew members on patient care and medical issues. The Medic delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols.

Requirements:

Current Virginia EMT-I or EMT-P Certification
Current CPR, Healthcare Provider Issue
Current ACLS Certification
Current PALS/PEPP Certification
Current EVOC Certification
BTLS/ITSL or PHTLS preferred
Valid Virginia Drivers License with no negative points
Pass a criminal background check
