Monthly CEU Program

ODEMSA offers monthly Continuing Education (CE) Programs at two locations in Planning Districts 13 & 14. Classes begin at 7:00 PM unless otherwise announced.  The program is designed to fulfill the CE requirements for Paramedic, Intermediate, Advanced EMT, and EMT. Both CAT 1 programs will allow EMS Providers at both the BLS and ALS levels to fulfill all their National Continuing Competency Requirements (NCCR) for recertification in a 12-month period. If you have fulfilled the requirements for NCCR hours any hours taken with these programs will be put into your CAT 2.

There is no pre-registration and no charge for this program.  This program is a service of the Old Dominion EMS Alliance to our regional providers.  Please follow ODEMSA on our Facebook page for cancellations due to weather or instructor emergencies. We recommend you check our Facebook before every class just to confirm.

Super CE Weekend Program

ODEMSA is offering two Super CE Weekend events in two locations in Planning Districts 15 & 19. A schedule of classes will be offered for both days as a separate document. These programs are designed to allow the ALS & BLS provider to gain new education and practice low frequency, high risk skills. These two CAT 1 programs will allow EMS Providers at both the BLS and ALS levels to fulfill up to 20 hours of their National Continuing Competency Requirements (NCCR) for recertification. If you have fulfilled the requirements for NCCR hours any hours taken with these programs will be put into your CAT 2.

Providers are expected to maintain records of classes they attend. When attendance is questioned, the provider’s signature on the class roster will provide proof of class attendance. It is the provider’s responsibility to sign the roster and make sure their Virginia certification number is scanned before leaving class. Providers are expected to bring their certification card for scanning on the night of class.

It is the responsibility of each provider to ensure that hours are properly credited.  Hours may take up to 15 days to be reported to the state Office of EMS. Please let the instructor know if expiring within the same month as the classes and call ODEMSA so that credits can be rushed to the OEMS. If hours do not show up in the OEMS portal within 15 days, please call ODEMSA at 804-560-3300.
