The Training and Education Committee is comprised of ALS Accredited Training Program Representatives, EMS agency Training Officers, representatives from the four ODEMSA EMS Sub-Councils and hospital representatives. The Training and Education Committee’s objective is to provide advice to the ODEMSA Board of Directors and the ODEMSA Medical Control Committee in matters dealing with the delivery of emergency care in the field. It is also a resource for other ODEMSA Committees including the Regional Performance Improvement and Pharmacy Committees.
The Committee has primary responsibility for oversight of the Prehospital Patient Care Protocols. It also oversees EMS provider quality improvement and quality assurance in cooperation with the ODEMSA Medical Control and Performance Committees. It reviews state and national course curricula, and recommends changes that more appropriately addresses the unique needs of the ODEMSA Region.
This committee was restructured in 2019 to be more in line with the goals of ODEMSA from Professional Development to Training and Education.
