March 24, 2023The Difficult Airway Cadaver Lab is a one day course designed to help the newer paramedic develop and enhance their airway skills through both didactic teaching and practical application of skills on the cadavers. The in-person skills lab training is interactive and providers will participate in group activities, scenario management, perform skills, and be encouraged out of their comfort zone; all to implement long term retention of material. Through deployment of multiple learning pedagogy tools, this course is designed through prioritizing an evidence-based curriculum and enhancing the comfort level of the providers while caring for patients. Skills to be performed include difficult airway assessment and identification, direct and video laryngoscopy, surgical crics, needle decompression, extraglottic device placement, NG/OG tube placement, oxygenation/ventilation management.
**NOTE: this material will be repeated on day one of the Extreme Airway Cadaver Lab so please do not register for both classes.**
Seats available: 30

March 25, 2023 – March 26, 2023Extreme Airway Cadaver Lab
Through utilization of realistic scenarios we take the difficult airway lab up a notch (or two). Day one material is the Difficult Airway Cadaver Lab repeated from 3/24; then on day two, this course takes the basis of the day one material and increases the difficulty of the scenarios and the airway management that is required. This includes the students walking into an MCI at the start of class, having to intubate through windshields, co-managing trauma and pre-existing medical conditions, identification of toxicology and advanced airway management, performing neonatal, infant and pediatric airway management. RSI and ventilatory management is included in the extreme airway lab.
**NOTE: day one of this two day class will be material repeated from the Difficult Airway Cadaver Lab on 3/24 so please do not register for both classes.**
