Piedmont Health District is distributing the vaccine, to EMS providers, through the County Emergency Managers. The Emergency Managers will contact each Licensed EMS Agency when the vaccine is available. Once the EMS Agency is notified of the vaccine availability, their providers will then make individual appointments to get the vaccine. Chesterfield Health District

The Chesterfield Health District has received vaccine and have begun the process of vaccinating providers.
Chesterfield County
Chesterfield Fire and EMS, Forest View VRS, Manchester VRS, Bensley-Bermuda VRS, Ettrick Matoaca VRS – are self-vaccinating through Chesterfield Fire. The process of vaccinating internally has begun.
Powhatan County
Powhatan Fire and EMS, Powhatan VRS – are in the process of vaccinating. They are utilizing point of dispensing (POD) sites to distribute the vaccine. Emails will be sent to agency members letting them know the dates PODS will be vaccinating. Providers will be required to sign in to “Sign-Up-Genius” to set the POD appointment. Because it is unknown when shipments of vaccine will arrive, causing short notice for a vaccine opportunity, it is recommended providers use “Sign-Up-Genius” to be placed on a waiting list for upcoming opportunities. If you’re on the waiting list, you will be notified when the POD site is scheduled. City of Colonial Heights
Colonial Heights Fire and EMS – are also self-vaccinating. The process of vaccinating internally has begun.
For all other providers, and non-affiliated EMS providers, Chesterfield will set up point of dispensing (POD) sites as needed. You must call the Chesterfield Call-Center at (804) 318-8207. Be prepared to give them your name, direct 24-hour phone number, email. If you represent an organization, name of the fire/ems organization, facility address, point of contact, number of medical staff members, number of non-medical staff members.

Crater Health District

Crater Health District has vaccine and they have begun vaccinating EMS providers through closed point of distribution (POD) sites. The closed PODS are scheduled, as needed. They are working closely with Crater ESF8 Emergency Managers to assure EMS agencies are aware and advised of specific dates/times, etc. The Health District will reach out to the EMS Agency Point of Contacts when appointments can be made. Deborah Whitacre advises EMS providers are in the top tier to receive the vaccine. All EMS providers are in phase 1a.
