COVID-19 Interim Guidelines

As the COVID-19 pandemic remains a dynamic situation, the guidelines will be amended as needed. Please refer to the links below for the most updated PDF version of the COVID-19 Interim Guidelines and a Table of Contents.

On April 2, 2020, the COVID-19 Interim Guidelines were published with the following changes:

1.) Additions to the drug box decontamination procedure (as indicated in the color red) to include decontamination of the inside of the drug box.

2.) Addition of guidelines for Respiratory – Asthma/COPD protocol (3-11) during COVID-19 (located in Appendix C).

3.) Addition of guidelines for cardiac arrest management during COVID-19 (located in Appendix D).

On April 9, 2020, the COVID-19 Interim Guidelines were published with the following changes:

1.) An adjustment to language in second bullet section and an additional section added to the drug box decontamination procedure. All additions and adjustments are indicated in the color red.

On April 15, 2020, two additions were made to the Cardiac Arrest Management During COVID-19 guideline (Appendix D). The additions are indicated in the color red.

On May 1, 2020, language in the drug box decontamination procedure was added to specify “Confirmed COVID-19 Patients or PUI” regarding the application of black triage tape to drug boxes.

Dexamethasone was removed from the respiratory protocol section 3-11 (Appendix C) in suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients, as a result of the updated guidelines for steroid administration.
