Old Dominion EMS Alliance and Virginia Office of EMS to Host Inaugural OEMS Region 6 EMS Town Hall

Public meeting on June 25, 2026, invites EMS providers, agencies, and community stakeholders to engage directly with state and regional EMS leadership

HENRICO, Va. โ€” June 1, 2026 โ€” The Old Dominion EMS Alliance (ODEMSA), serving as OEMS Region 6, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Health Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS), will host the inaugural OEMS Region 6 EMS Town Hall on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 7:00 PM Eastern. The meeting will be held in person at the VCU Health Building in Henrico and offered virtually via Microsoft Teams.

The Town Hall is part of a statewide initiative by the Virginia Office of EMS to conduct Town Hall meetings in each of Virginia’s seven EMS regions. These events are designed to strengthen communication, share information, and give EMS providers and stakeholders an opportunity to engage directly with leadership at both the regional and state levels.

“This Town Hall is about hearing directly from the people who deliver EMS care across our region,” said Heidi Hooker, Executive Director of OEMS Region 6 (ODEMSA). “Whether you’re a provider, an agency leader, or a healthcare partner, your questions and ideas help shape the future of EMS in Virginia. We want this to be a genuine two-way conversation.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to receive updates from the Virginia Office of EMS and OEMS Region 6, learn about current initiatives and future priorities, hear directly from EMS leaders at the state and regional levels, ask questions, and share feedback that may help inform the ongoing development of EMS programs and services throughout the Commonwealth.

The event will also address Virginia’s new regional EMS structure, including the transition of ODEMSA to its role as OEMS Region 6, and what that change means for providers, agencies, and healthcare partners across Planning Districts 13, 14, 15, and 19.

The Town Hall is open to all EMS providers and stakeholders, including EMS providers, nurses, physicians, Operational Medical Directors, EMS educators, agency administrators and leaders, public safety partners, local government representatives, hospital and emergency management personnel, community stakeholders, and interested members of the public.
